Allan Schenk Safaris Spring Grove Lodge is situated in the Cowie Valley, approximately two and a quarter hours’ drive, North West of Port Elizabeth Airport, between the little towns of Bedford and Adelaide, in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa.
This spectacular region is surrounded by the Winterberg Mountains, which rise to over 7700 ft above sea level, forming a barrier to the moisture laden winds blowing from the coast. The Cowie River meanders through this mountainous wilderness, creating a mixed terrain of deep ravines, thickly wooded slopes and undulating country between the mountain ridges. South of Allan Schenk Safaris Lodge, the foothills of the Winterberg give way to more gentle country, comprising small hills, separated by dry river courses and lightly wooded savannah grasslands.
Allan Schenk Safaris Spring Grove Lodge is a luxurious, out of Africa style farm lodge with wide veranda, swimming pool and open air fire places. The lodge has a modern kitchen, large dining room and spacious living area and entertainment area with indoor fire places for the winter.
Accommodation consists of 3 comfortable double rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms as well as a comfortable Garden Cottage- family type unit has 2 double rooms sharing a central bathroom. For those who prefer the outdoors, a luxurious “East African style” tent with rustic en-suite open air bathroom.

Indulge in exceptional service and superb cuisine. Menus’ are altered on a daily basis and provide guests with excellent home-style cooking. The succulent and tasty meat from harvested game is often part of our menu allowing clients the opportunity to taste the various species.
